Hallmark currently works with a number of housing associations on mixed tenure schemes. Our view is that these schemes work if all tenure groups are treated equally and have access to the same service levels. This benefits all residents and the scheme as a whole.
Ideally Hallmark will manage all the units in a mixed use scheme. This brings economies of scale and ensures that all residents feel that they are receiving the same level of service. It leads to better social cohesion as well as keeping the development in good repair and attractive condition.
We are always willing to work with a housing association to keep costs within budget. We always recommend that the service charge covers the cost of basic, everyday maintenance and security, plus sufficient funds for long term contingencies, allowing all residents to enjoy a safe and attractive living environment.
